Our Mother of Perpetual Help

Our Lady of Perpetual Help is a title we Catholics give to the Blessed Virgin Mary as she is represented in a 15th century Byzantine icon.  To we Catholics in Boston, the icon is well known due to the fact that the Redemptorists live at the Basilica of Our Lady of Perpetual Help.  This religious order, the Redemptorists have been entrusted with the mission of spreading devotion to Our Mother of Perpetual Help.  Next year the Redemptorists will be celebrating a jubilee of 150 years since the icon was entrusted to them.  They have a web site up devoted to this jubilee here: http://www.iconoflove.org/

Why do you think?
